A Narcissistic God

Some skeptics would accuse us who are Christ-followers of worshiping a narcissistic God. Why would they say that? Maybe because the Bible says that God demands that we worship no other gods and even admits He is a jealous God (Exod. 34:14). Jesus calls God perfect and challenges us to be perfect too (Matt. 5:48). There are angels surrounding God that never stop saying, Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord God almighty. (Rev. 4:8).

I could go on quoting many verses but the central purpose of the Bible and the Gospel was not primarily for the salvation of those who would believe. Though the benefit is obvious. But even our salvation is a means of bringing glory to God. In fact, the primary purpose for us, as we live our life, is to bring glory to God. There is no denying it - it's all about the glory of God.

So, do we serve a narcissistic God? No, we don't. Why? Could it be that the God we serve is so Holy, so Righteous, so Magnificent, and so much Greater and Higher than anything that we could comprehend (Isa. 55:8-9) that HE ACTUALLY DESERVES IT!

He actually deserves all of the glory and honor and praise. Which is why the Bible says, For from Him and through Him and for Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! (Rom. 11:36).

The God we serve, if we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, deserves all of the glory we could possible give to Him. And, finally, when this flesh as been redeemed - they'll be nothing to stop the praise to Him that He deserves...in His grip.
