Happy New Year!
Okay, you can tell me...what New Year's resolutions have you made? Diet? (I always fail at that one). More faithful Bible reading? Dedicated prayer life? Live on a budget? Stop using bad words? Stop smoking? Stop dating that person that's driving you crazy? Stop hanging around those people who are dragging you down? Go to church more faithfully?
How about this one? Dying to self daily. Jesus made it clear in Luke 9:23-24 that that is exactly what we have to do.
May Paul's prayer found in Colossians 1:9-10 be for you today...and the days to come: We ask God to give you a complete understanding of what He wants to do in your lives, and we ask Him to make you wise with spiritual wisdom. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and you will continually do good, kind things for others. All the while, you will learn to know God better and better. NLT
